Police notes - June 4, 2010
Stay low: A Barley Lane resident complained to police May 20 about having a bullet fly over his head. Skeet shooters at a nearby range were firing handguns in the opposite direction according to police, and also out of range of the resident’s yard.
Split the scene: Police were unable to locate about 10 teenagers who were “hanging out” near Portland Pie Co. on May 20 before they drove away in two cars.
Truckin’: The driver of a tractor-trailer was cited for disregarding a traffic signal May 21 after a complaint he ran a red light at Gorham and Mussey roads.
Stumblin’ in: A man reported “falling into the roadway” as he walked along Payne Road on May 21 told police he had been drinking heavily and was walking home. Officers called a taxi for him.
Easy rider I: Police were unable to find two boys allegedly riding dirt bikes on the road near Broadturn and Joss Hill roads May 23 but have been told it is a continuing problem.
Easy rider II: A motorcycle rider was cited for erratic operation after a complaint about him speeding between Cabela’s and Portland Pie Co. on May 25.
No tonic?: Police are looking for two men who allegedly grabbed two bottles of Grey Goose vodka May 25 and ran out of Hannaford Bros. before leaving in a gold sedan.
Heavy fuel: A 35-year-old man was arrested May 26 and charged with theft and violating conditions of release after police discovered five kegs of beer in the van he parked outside Famous Dave’s BBQ.
Grab everything: Two women were summonsed for theft May 27 at Wal-Mart for allegedly stealing CDs, DVDs, beef jerky and four skateboard wheels.
