Police report two trimmers and a backpack-style leaf blower were among items allegedly stolen between May 14 and 17 from a locked trailer at Maine Turf and Greenery on Pleasant Hill Road.
Test drive
A 21-year-old South Portland man was arrested and charged with criminal speed, attaching false plates and operating without a license May 17 after police clocked him driving more than 30 mph over the speed limit on Highland Avenue. Police said he had just bought the motorcycle and was using the former owner’s license plates.
Smoke break
Suspected juveniles gathered in a vehicle in the parking lot at Oak Hill Beverage May 18 turned out to be older than 18 and allowed to possess cigarettes they were sharing.
On the case
A reported suspicious person in the parking lot at Energy USA on Route 1 was a private investigator.
A name like that
Police are looking for two women alleged to have stolen a shih-poo puppy, a mixed breed of shih-tzu and poodle, May 18 from Pawsitively Pets on Route 1. One woman allegedly distracted a clerk while the other took the puppy from a pen.
Just me
A reported suspicious vehicle in the parking lot between Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken on May 20 belonged to a restaurant employee.
