Employees at Maine Spine and Rehabilitation of Spring Street reported $75 cash was stolen from a locked file cabinet sometime between April 30 and the morning of May 3.
Carpetbaggers?
Employees at Darling’s Carpet and Floor Care on County Road reported a suspicious phone call May 3 involving an attempt to get company financial information. The caller claimed to be from a company moving to the area that needed its carpets cleaned.
Check his references
Police arrested a 19-year-old Old Orchard Beach man working at Super Wal-Mart May 3 after he allegedly stole $210 from the cash register. He was charged with theft and violating conditions of his release.
Stay in line
A driver was warned about erratic operation May 3 after a complaint he was weaving in traffic near Gorham and Running Hill roads.
Down the road
On May 4, police were unable to locate a suspicious male seen near Scottow Hill Road and Haigis Parkway said to be carrying a backpack, waving at drivers and trying to make eye contact with them.
Obedient
A woman was warned by police May 4 after she allegedly tried to steal a lighter at the Irving Station on Route 1. Police found the woman waiting in the parking lot with a companion after the store manager told her to stay put.
Hot sounds
Car stereo equipment allegedly stolen from the Traffic Jam on Payne Road last month was reported to be in the car of a customer May 5 at Dr. Stereo on Route 1. The car owner has not been located.
Beat feet
A 19-year-old Auburn man was summonsed May 5 for a theft at Cabela’s after allegedly walking out of the store in shoes valued at $40. He left a pair of sandals in the shoebox.
If at first
Police are looking for three males who allegedly twice tried to steal small engines and generators from Tractor Supply on Route 1. They were last seen May 7 trying to remove an engine locked to a rack.
