A tip on a social networking site led to summonses for two Scarborough Middle School students for drug distribution, according to police.

Detective Sgt. Rick Rouse said the 13-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were summonsed by school resource officer Robert Pellerin on April 27 after it was learned the girl allegedly provided the boy some of her Ritalin tablets.

Rouse said the boy allegedly sold the pills and marijuana. He was summonsed on the charge of unlawful trafficking and the girl was summonsed on the charge of aggravated furnishing of drugs.

The boy allegedly made $20 from the sales. The teens were released to the custody of their parents, Rouse said.
