Painful discovery
A front-end loader and excavator sustained about $3,000 in damages sometime between April 9 and April 12 after vandals broke windshields on the equipment at R. J. Grondin gravel pit on Beech Ridge Road. Police noticed bicycle tracks leading from the pit.
Cashed out
Employees at Pine Tree Waste on Pleasant Hill Road discovered the theft of $80 from a cash box on April 12. The theft may have occurred over the weekend.
Spring cleaning?
A 24-year-old Steep Falls woman was arrested April 12 for the theft of paper towels from Rite Aid on Route 1. She also was charged with violating conditions of her release stemming from the alleged April 6 theft of soup and ice cream from Shaw’s Supermarket on Payne Road.
Went that-a-way
Police were unable to find a pickup truck that reportedly almost collided with several cars April 12 on Payne Road. The truck was last seen driving south toward Route 1.
Shocking behavior
A driver stopped by police at Gorham and Running Hill roads April 12 told police his reported erratic driving was caused by a broken shock absorber. He promised to get the car repaired the next day.
Spin cycle
Police were unable to locate the driver of a Camaro who allegedly spun wheels April 14 while pulling out of the intersection of Willowdale Road and Route 1.
Roots of conflict
A woman on Carriage Way complained April 14 neighbors were poisoning her trees. No evidence of damage was found.
Not very sharp
The 39-year-old passenger in a car stopped at Woodgate Road and Highland Avenue April 15 was charged with violating conditions of his release, carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession after police said they found cocaine residue on a knife he was carrying.
Rubber hits the road
A man reported to be checking out vehicles in the Shaw’s parking lot April 15 said he was looking for a coworker’s vehicle because he was dropping off a set of tires.
Not Ft. Lauderdale
Three people were summonsed as minors consuming alcohol and a minor was summonsed for operating under the influence after police responded to calls about parties on Pine Point April 17.
