Budding Picassos

Workers at the former Orion Center reported vandals spray painted the inside of the building and a construction trailer March 29.

 

Standing out

Police were unable March 29 to locate a red sedan with “a smashed-in hood” reportedly driving erratically near Route 1 and Broadturn Road.

 

Happy landing

A 44-year-old Scarborough woman was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident March 30 after she allegedly rear-ended another vehicle at the drive-through window of Dunkin’ Donuts on County Road at 10:12 a.m. After the collision, she drove into a ditch and a witness took her keys.

 

Bounced

Police called to Portland Volvo on March 31 are trying to locate the person who wrote a bad check for $1,200 in car repairs.

 

Found one

Police could not locate a man allegedly sitting in front of the Kennel Shop on Expedition Drive holding a cardboard sign asking for a ride on March 31.

 

Just kidding?

Police were unable to locate a man who allegedly stopped a car April 1 near Nonesuch River Plaza to report his car had been stolen. He was reported to have banged on the hood of the car he stopped. Police were also unable to find the person calling in the complaint.

 

Gnarly, dude

A call about suspicious activity at Bayview and Ocean avenues in Higgins Beach at 1:15 a.m. April 1 turned out to be area residents watching surf created by a storm.

 

Will call

The Scarborough High School Resource Officer was expected to follow up on a report about an April 2 fight outside Cumberland Farms between four students that may have injured two of them.

 

Lock your doors

The driver of a car parked near Walgreens Pharmacy on April 2 reported the theft of sunglasses and a purse containing debit and credit cards, cash and medications.
