Letter: Project G.R.A.C.E turns 10 (Printed Feb. 5, 2010)

To the editor:

Project G.R.A.C.E. (Granting Resources and Assistance through Community Effort) is a community based non-profit located in Scarborough. Our volunteer staff offers assistance to those who are struggling to make ends meet with a goal of providing temporary assistance to people with short-term needs.
We are celebrating our 10th year. We thrive here because of your strong community support.
Project G.R.A.C.E. and its mission is familiar to many residents of Scarborough. We do follow strict guidelines to act as good stewards of the generous funding we receive; our financial donations are from hundreds of individuals and groups, businesses and churches.
Our mission is to improve the lives of our neighbors by identifying both those in need and those willing to share their gifts and coordinating the interchange in a compassionate, confidential manner. We are available to help our neighbors who are facing temporary difficult times by providing confidential interaction between volunteer staff and potential recipients.
We are very thankful to all our friends and with your help will celebrate many more birthdays.
