To the editor:

Here in Scarborough, we have a great team of public works and public safety workers whose performance is never sung enough. It occurred to me the other day that this is the second winter season since my return to Maine and I have not once waited for my street to be plowed so I could get out of the house. I have not once been unable to get somewhere in Scarborough when it was necessary, even with the horrid ice storm we experienced last year. And fortunately, I have not needed the services of our fire and police in bad weather, but I know they are out there continuing to service the public regardless of the conditions.
So, kudos to our public works and safety workers, and thank you for your service to the citizens of Scarborough.
