Just passing through
A person reported as suspicious to police on Dec. 14 turned out to be a Wendy’s employee walking home from work along Route 1.

Not home cooking
Police and firefighters responding to a call about a burning smell Dec. 14 discovered a smoking electrical transformer at Scarborough Grounds on Route 1. The restaurant was not evacuated and Central Maine Power was notified of the problem.

Here a minute ago
Police were unable to find a suspicious person in dark clothes reported near Marshwinds Condominiums on Pine Point Road on Dec. 14.

Quiet on the canning front
Called to an area on Snow Canning Road on Dec. 15, police were unable to find who might have been firing a gun.

The best policy
Police said a resident of Cleaview Drive turned in a bank card found in the area Dec. 16.  The card was then picked up by its owner at the police station.

Annoyed, not suspicious
A report of a suspicious vehicle at Pine Point and Dunstan Landing roads Dec. 16 turned out to be a vehicle stuck in soft dirt on the shoulder of the road.

We’ve got it
The owner of a license plate lost near Payne and Regal Pines roads Dec. 17 can pick the plate up at the police station.

Sitting comfortably
A report of a suspicious vehicle on Chamberlain Road on Dec. 17 led police to a vacant black pickup truck estimated to have been parked for 20 minutes. No action was taken.

Conspiracy theory?
Two searches by police for pickup trucks seen driving slowly through area neighborhoods Dec. 18 turned up no suspicious vehicles.

Did it ferment?
A man evaluated for high blood sugar after his arrest on Gorham Road Dec. 19 turned out to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 and was charged with operating under the influence.
