The Santa effect
A purse found in the lobby of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Route 1 on Nov. 30 was returned to its owner who reported nothing was missing.

Transgressions
Police responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Black Point Road at 4:44 a.m. on Dec. 1 found a car with front-end damage that was not running and had no lights on. The male, 24-year-old driver was arrested on outstanding warrants from Portland.

Long drive home?
A Beech Ridge Road resident was discovered sleeping in a car near the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway at about 9 a.m. on Dec. 1 when police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle.

On the right path?
Police were unable to find a black sport utility vehicle reportedly driving north in the southbound lanes of I-295 on Dec. 1 at about 11:25 a.m.

Country living
A Beech Ridge Road resident reported hearing a gunshot at about 2:43 a.m. on Dec. 2, but police were unable to find any activity in the area.

Put a lid on it
The driver of a truck hauling waste had to clean up a section of Gorham Road near Nonesuch River Golf Course after what appeared to be bottle caps were spilled on Dec. 2. The driver was also told to cover the load better with a tarp.

On further review
On Dec. 4, employees at the Irving gas station on Route 1 reported a suspicious customer trying to use what they believed to be a lost or stolen credit card before coming into the store. Additional investigation showed the card might belong to the subject.

Tight squeeze
Following a complaint about tailgating, the driver of a pickup truck told police he was following another car closely as they passed an accident Dec. 5 near the Gorham bypass before continuing on Route 114. He said a collision almost occurred after the other driver pulled to the side of the road and he passed her.
