Letter: Police go extra mile (Printed Dec. 11, 2009)
To the editor:
Kudos to the Scarborough Police officer who developed the information form for our citizens with special needs (“Getting to know...,” Dec. 4, page 9).
Taking experience from his personal life and using it to develop a program that benefits out entire community took vision and dedication above and beyond the call of duty.
In this time of budget cuts and delayed pay raises, it would have been very easy for him to “leave the job at the office.” It is very reassuring to know that our police department is still giving more than 100 percent to our community.
Thank you to Chief Moulton, the referenced officer and the rest of our law enforcement department.
