Assisting older adults and friends
Southern Maine Agency on Aging will offer “Putting the Puzzle Together,” a four-part education series for people assisting older adult family and friends, at SMAA, 136 Route 1 in Scarborough. Classes are offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 18 and 25 and Sept. 1 and 8.
This series includes a session about older adult health, presented by a geriatrician, sessions about community resources, living options, and problem solving, and a session about legal issues, taught by an elder law attorney.
Participants should plan to attend all four sessions. There is no charge, but pre-registration is required and space is limited.

Scarborough Farmers’ Market is from 9 a.m. to noon in the lower high school parking lot, behind Scarborough Town Hall on Route 1. For more information, call 883-4893.
Garden tour July 18
“Spectacular Gardens of Scarborough Tour” will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 18, rain or shine. This is an opportunity to tour nine unusual and interesting gardens. Tickets are $15 they are available in advance at various local businesses and on the day of the tour you can get them at the Hunnewell House located at Black Point Road.
