Motorcycle enthusiasts will have the opportunity to rev up their bikes Saturday to help the family of a murdered woman.

Memory Lane Music Hall of Standish will host the “I Hope You Dance, Belinda’s Ride” motorcycle rally on Saturday. Money from the event will go to the family of Belinda Taylor, who was murdered in April.

According to an April 29 Associated Press story, Taylor was stabbed to death by her husband, Kenneth Taylor, in their home on Juniper Lane in Westbrook. The couple was going through a divorce at the time of the incident. Immediately following the murder, Kenneth Taylor stabbed and killed himself, according to the story.

The couple left behind three daughters, Jenny, 23, Kaylee, 14 and Kiara, 12.

Memory Lane owner Jim Paquette said Belinda Taylor had “that aura people are drawn to.”

“She was one of the most enthusiastic, feel good people,” Paquette said. “She was a Zumba instructor and taught 20 classes a week. She encouraged people to have fun. She was always smiling. She was a good-hearted person.”

Paquette said the ride will begin at Lifestyles Fitness Center,  located on Pleasant Hill Road in Scarborough, where Taylor worked as an instructor. The ride will first stop at Bentley’s Saloon in Arundel, then Club 302 in Windham before ending at Memory Lane.

Paquette said a cookout will be held at Memory Lane after the ride, with 10 bands performing from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday.

Prizes such as Boston Red Sox tickets will be raffled throughout the evening.

Paquette said radio station 106.7 “The Bone” will broadcast live from Memory Lane, and the T.V. show “Ridin’ Steel” will be filming the event for one of their episodes.

He said there will also be members of a domestic violence group on hand to help bring awareness.

Paquette said he wants to host the event every year, with future proceeds going to local domestic violence awareness groups.

Tickets for the bike ride are $25, which will include Memory Lane festivities. For people wishing to only attend that event, a donation of $10 is suggested for all bar patrons.

Paquette said his goal is to raise $10,000 for the Taylor family.

“I don’t know if we’ll get there, but we’re going to try,” he said.
