Fleeing suspect surrenders (May 29, 2009)

Four Scarborough residents have been arrested, including one resident who escaped from the back of a police cruiser, according to police.

Brandon Gross and Samantha Sweeney, both 18, were arrested after their vehicle was pulled over Tuesday night around 10 p.m. by Scarborough Police Officer Glenn Tucker. Gross was arrested for operating without a license, while Sweeney was arrested for disorderly conduct. Two other passengers, both under the age of 18, were also arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.

According to police, as suspects were moved into the police cruiser, Gross escaped and fled the area. Gross eventually turned himself in at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday outside Scarborough Public Library.
