Girls’ lacrosse ropes Greely Rangers, 15-7


The Red Storm Girls’ Lacrosse team opened up their regular season by defeating the Greely Rangers 15-7 Tuesday night. Scarborough junior attacker Ellie Morin led the Red Storm offensively, scoring six goal and adding an assist. Lindsay Hagerman also contributed with three goals and four assists, while Meghan Quirk added three goals.

Kelly Burrell and Britt Ames led Greely with two goals apiece. The Red Storm will travel on the road to play against the Cheverus Stags at 4 p.m. this afternoon.


Hannan strikes out 14 


Freshman pitcher Mo Hannan struck out 14 batters in five innings to get her first varsity win, as the Red Storm softball team beat McAuley High School 12-0 on Monday in Scarborough. Catie Funk contributed offensively for Scarborough with two hits and three runs batted in.

Brianna Mancuso and Jordan Finley were both repeat hitters for McAuley.

Scarborough will play against the Kennebunk Rams 4 p.m. today in Scarborough.


 Girls’ tennis tames Mustangs, 5-0


The Scarborough High School Girls’ Tennis team defeated the Massabesic Mustangs 5-0 Monday in Waterboro. Kasia Jania, Shannon Eddy and Sarah Moody won in singles matches, while the tandems of Devin Kane and Allie Pastori, as well as Jenna Posey and Crysty Tsujiura won in doubles matches. The Red Storm will face off against Bonny Eagle at 3:30 p.m. today at home.
