Thanks to all of you who voted to keep the current ordinance in place regarding slots. We couldn’t have done it without a great team and one on one communication.

    We had words, works, and prayers combined to make this come together against incredible odds.

    Can you believe 239 votes!

   Think of what was offered by these people and the implication of this only being the start of the process.This town would have been in turmoil for three years while this dragged trough the legislature, then back to the town.

  We can now move forward without the specter of a racino over our heads.

  We now need to unite with a solid plan for economic development that includes the Downs if they will let us. I know for a fact that SEDCO is willing and able to do that and I am confident that the new council will be too.

   And don’t forget, this town is the best place to live as it is. We need to keep it that way with careful and deliberate planning.
