And so it goes, another year gone (May 2, 2008)

And so it goes … another school year gone by in the blink of an eye!! For the Scarborough seniors graduating class of 2008 this year has flown by even faster with all of their “duties” as seniors – applications to colleges, endless amounts of essay writing, applying for scholarships to help mom and dad out, all the while maintaining their grades, playing their sports, tending to their social lives, and waiting … the seemingly endless wait for college acceptance letters.
In the very near future, all of the “last hurrahs” will be upon us – senior sports banquets, class trips, senior proms, final assemblies and so on. As proud parents, we will certainly be, or try to be, at any and every event that we can possibly attend to remind our children how proud we are of them for a job well done, and to show them, once again, how much we love them before they go off into their new world.
Here’s the hook – as parents of previous Scarborough graduates, we can only tell you that one of the most impressive and indelible events is the Senior Baccalaureate. Words can’t even begin to describe it – you have to be there to appreciate it in all of its splendor and glory.
It is the most emotionally moving ceremony of all. Every Scarborough senior, regardless of the school that they attend or their personal faith, is invited (along with their parents) to experience this incredible celebration.
Please mark this date on your very busy calendars – it is well worth it – Wednesday, June 4, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough.
