Letter: Follow the rules (Printed March 14, 2008)

Editor:

[Regarding a March 7 Letter to the Editor, “Ruined Sunday”]

Perhaps the Bent folks feel above following the rules, like a few of our present politicians!

Although the “sign” was not blinking at the entrance on Ocean Avenue the streets were still two-way all day every way.

The workers have done their best, to make those of us who live here, have access to our streets and homes. It has been difficult at times with the snow banks, two-way streets and folks who like to take walks and as the cliche says, “three is too many.”

The police have been very considerate in not giving out as many tickets as they could and probably should have to those who park, illegally!! I am assuming that these people have been here before because they knew what the sign said, so perhaps they are lucky and only have one ticket.

There are many other places to park and walk other than Higgins Beach. While this work is going on perhaps they should try Pine Point, Ferry Beach, Scarborough Beach Crescent Beach, Kettle Cove or even Fort Williams.

Please be a good neighbor and try other places until this project is finished.
