Letter: Thanks to all who support Proj. Grad. (Printed Feb. 22, 2008)

As a parent and resident of Scarborough, I often reflect on our community with appreciation for all it has to offer and the amazing citizens who contribute to its culture through volunteering. This year, I have had the privilege of being involved in Scarborough High School’s Project Graduation along with many other parents. It is a rewarding effort knowing that the work will make the lives of our children safer and happier.
As you know, Project Graduation is designed to make graduation night a safe, fun, chemical-free celebration for the graduating class of Scarborough High School. It provides an opportunity for all graduating students to gather in a safe place and enjoy food and activities as they mark this major milestone in their life.
On March 8, Project Graduation is holding its annual auction. The auction is the major fundraiser underwriting all costs for this eventful night. This year our theme is Night at the Movies. Parents and student volunteers will transform the high school cafeteria into a movie adventure with music by the SHS Jazz Band, tasty food, favorite movie stars and maybe even a guest appearance by Jack Nicholson! There will be many great items featured in a silent auction and Auctioneer Scott Macomber will facilitate a live auction.
Please join us on March 8 beginning at 5 p.m. and help contribute to a terrific community effort. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.
