SYSF donates $500 to Scarborough 350 Committee
Editor:
Scarborough Youth Sports Forum is an organization, involving dozens of Scarborough adults and hundreds of its children that is focused on Scarborough's future. Scarborough 350 is a group, meanwhile that is spending its time finding suitable ways to celebrate the upcoming 350th birthday of our little town.
The Scarborough Youth Sports Forum (SYSF) has once again voted to make a donation, from funds raised in our kids sports programs, to the Scarborough 350 Committee.
The committee is busy putting the final touches on "coffee table" books detailing the various great people and achievements of our town since its incorporation in 1658.
SYSF has written a check for $500 to the committee to help with the publishing of the coffee table books. This is the second donation of this amount that the SYSF board has authorized. We think the group's 350 birthday party work is that important. We have a town with a great past.
We have a group of young athletes, ages three to seven, who show us in every sport and in every season of every year since 1998 that the town also clearly has a great future!
Good luck to the committee in its work.
Thank you to all the Scarborough families who have had their sons and daughters participate in our SYSF sports programs. We are fortunate to be able to use the funds for good purposes such as this.
